John Van Epp, PhD
President & Founder
John Van Epp is the founder of Love Thinks and the author of both the PICK a Partner (aka How to Avoid Falling for a Jerk) and Marriage LINKS programs. For his full bio please click here.
Morgan Van Epp Cutlip, MS
VP of Research & Development
Morgan Van Epp Cutlip joined the Love Thinks team officially two years ago, although she developed an interest in romantic relationship health at a young age, and traveled with her father when he first started teaching the How to Avoid Falling for Jerk program 17 years ago.
Since, Morgan has completed her Bachelor's degree in psychology at Miami University, her Master's in Human Development and Family Science at the Ohio State University, and is finishing her Doctorate in Counseling Psychology at the University of Akron. While at Ohio State, Morgan worked on a research project that evaluated the effectiveness of the No Jerk program with single Army soldiers. She was lead author on the research article published about the study, which was awarded the 2008 Family and Consumer Sciences Research Journal article of the year.
She is happily married to her husband, Chad, and they live in Virginia with their dog, Theodore Roosevelt.
Fred Goff
Master Trainer
Fred Goff worked for the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) for 37 years. He began as an officer and worked in various positions including that of acting warden. Under his supervision, the Special Alternative Incarceration Facility (“boot camp”) was converted to a Michigan Prisoner Re-Entry Initiative institution that provided evidenced-based programs to prisoners in a highly structured environment. SAI, under its current status, saves the State of Michigan approximately $25 million dollars a year. A core program of SAI is PICK A Partner.
While employed with the MDOC, Fred was a member of the Traumatic Incident Stress Management Team, appointed liaison between the Southeast Michigan Healthy Marriage Coalition and the MDOC, served as an on-site coordinator for the Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Program (a modified therapeutic community), selected as a member of the Director’s Children and Families Committee, and a facilitator for the Institute of Healing of Racism workshops.
Fred earned a B.A from MSU majoring in psychology. He resides in Jackson, Michigan, with the love of his life, wife Sue Ellen.
Beth Miller
Master Trainer
Beth Miller has had a passion for relationship education and is trained in numerous relationship programs, including her favorites PICK & LINKS! Beth has given marriage retreats, worked with MOPS, provided leadership trainings, and is an active member of her church. Beth is happily married to her husband, David. The two empty nesters reside in Bumpass, Virginia.
